Volvo Highlights Semi-Truck Technology In The Weirdest Love Story Ever

Let us take a moment to introduce the co-stars of this short, wacky and sometimes awkward video from Volvo. We have Efficiencybig rigs Volvo FH, and Exciting, also FH trucks. They’re both silver, both have white trailers, and now that we’re typing this, it makes this even creepier because they’re basically identical twins. But we deviated.

We used to talk about Volvo cars in Motor1.com, but the company’s semi-trucks are the stuff of legend. The FH series was launched in 1993, with the current generation dating back to 2012. In 2019, Volvo launched the I-Save system for the FH which essentially combines software, technology systems and better low-end power from its engines to enhance fuel efficiency. But can efficient driving also be fun? You might see where it leads.

That brings us back to the video, which is supposed to promote Volvo’s FH trucks with I-Save in a smart way. For 58 seconds we see Efficiency and Exciting meet, travel, hold hand tires, and like every melodramatic love story, there are trucks crashing into each other (let’s say it’s 10 times faster… we’ll wait) frolicking on the beach. Suddenly, we recalled these trucks that were nearly identical in every way. Must be scary.

At the end of the video, we get the real message: fun meets efficiency in the Volvo FH with I-Save. We totally missed it the first time because of that scorching beach love scene, but hey, credit to Volvo for daring to be different.

“We are very proud of the I-Save feature, and with this love story we wanted to give the features the attention they deserve,” said Peter Franzén, product manager for engines at Volvo Trucks. “For our customers, I-Save has stood for outstanding fuel economy and great rideability, and most of the Volvo FH trucks we sell today are equipped with I-Save.

As for Efficiency and Excitingthey eventually got married and settled in a quiet neighborhood in eaststersund. Efficiency is an IT manager working from home, while Exciting running a 1980s themed arcade.
