Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV Teased One Last Time Before Full Debut

There are only three full days left until the official debut of the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV. The premiere will take place on October 16 at 8 p.m. CEST (2 p.m. ET) when the German automaker will launch its new electric SUV. The automaker will be accompanied by its Mercedes-AMG division and the two companies will showcase their entire fleet of EQs at the Musee Rodin park in Paris on October 16 and 17, alongside concept vehicles that look to their electric future.

We might have said quite a bit about the zero-emissions family carrier before taking a full look at it, but Mercedes has one last teaser image to get a look at the model. This time, we finally get to see the EQE SUV from the outside, to be precise – its front-end design. Nothing particularly surprising, as this SUV follows the same design language as the other EQ vehicles.

The EQE SUV will be positioned below the flagship EQS SUV and will essentially be a utility version of the EQE sedan. The two electric vehicles will share the same hardware, meaning the newcomer will likely be available as the EQE 53 SUV with 677 horsepower (506 kilowatts) of a dual-motor electric powertrain. The more affordable EQE 43 SUV can offer 469 hp (350 kW), matching the output of the EQE 43 sedan.

The Stuttgart-based manufacturer describes the new EQE SUV as a “multi-purpose” version of the EQE sedan. Expect to find increased cabin and cargo space with more legroom and headroom compared to the more traditional EQE sedan. Previous teasers have shown the interior will also receive a triple-screen layout surrounded by a mix of contrasting colors and materials.

Mercedes has said it will use its presence in the city of Paris to support its ambition to “lead in electricity,” showcasing its entire lineup of electric vehicles. With the debut of the EQE SUV and the addition of other zero-emissions vehicles, Mercedes will have battery-powered models in every automotive segment where it sells cars before the end of 2022.
