2024 Audi A4 Avant Spied Lapping The Nurburgring

A new generation of Audi A4 is in development. Apart from the sedan version, the next Avant wagon is also on its way. An example in this gallery is the test at the Nürburgring.

The new A4 follows the general automotive design trend of adopting a larger grille. The design continues to have a hexagonal shape but now extends to the headlights. The lower fascia has a trapezoidal opening with the sensor in the middle. The vertical slit is on the outer edge of the nose.

Camouflage makes it difficult to see design details. There is a raised section along the bottom of the door. The rear fender has boxy flares. The cart was on a five-spoke black wheel.

At the rear, this car uses placeholder taillights. There is one exhaust outlet on the driver side of the bumper.

Previous spy shots of the cabin show the A4 with a wide digital instrument cluster and separate infotainment display. The gear display is on the console. The new generation reportedly does not get a manual gearbox option.

Judging from previous spy videos, the A4 will continue to use a turbocharged four-cylinder, and the S4 sounds like it’s still a turbocharged V6. A hybrid powertrain is a possibility due to the stricter emission rules in Europe. Plus, BMW and Mercedes offer electrification options in their competitors against the A4.

The new A4 is reported to be debuting in 2023. It is not yet clear whether the Avant will premiere alongside the sedan. In the future, we expect a tougher, higher ride, and sportier version of the Allroad to join the lineup.

Audi is already developing an electric version of the larger A6. Should debut before the end of the year. The wagon version joins the range in 2024.
