Next Mercedes E-Class Wagon Seen In Public For The First Time

The next-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class is under development as it has been seen testing on public roads since December 2021. However, executive vehicles have always appeared in sedan form – until recently, according to walkoARTvideos on Youtube.

For the first time, the next-generation Mercedes E-Class wagon caught on public roads. It waits for the green light at the intersection, complete with all the concealment you’d expect from a test vehicle. There are two prototypes, although the difference between the two is not visible in the video.

As a long-roof model, you can expect the E-Class estate to carry the same styling as the sedan though with a clear change at the rear. The unofficial rendering above imagines what the next E-Class sedan will look like based on the spy shots.

As expected, the E-Class will look like a shrunk Mercedes S-Class, with evolutionary design changes to the previous model. The grille is expected to be smaller than before, as well as a slimmer set of headlights. The rear is also expected to get the same approach. Overall, the next-generation E-Class, whether in sedan or wagon form, will look slimmer than the fifth-generation version of the W213 model.

Meanwhile, the interior isn’t shown in the video above, but we suspect it won’t be any different from what we’ve seen before. For the record, interior spy shots show a dual-screen setup like the S-Class. Those waiting for the next-generation E-Class can expect the German automaker’s latest driver-assist feature.

Mercedes-Benz has yet to announce the exact launch date of the next generation W214 E-Class, but we expect it to debut towards the end of the year. The outgoing model was introduced in 2016, so it was time for a major overhaul.
