  • Scura means “darkness” in Italian.

Our beloved Lotus Emira warriors, despite the tough world of light, mid-engined, manual transmission sports cars – now with a cool new special edition: the Scura.

Scura means “darkness” in Italian, which Emira embodies with her dark accents and commitment to a gothic aesthetic.

The Scura, for Lotus nerds, is a callback to the very limited 2009 Exige Scura, which featured matte black paint and black accents. Just like that car, the Emira Scura is functionally an appearance package with no performance upgrades over the regular car. The matte paint is called Satin Nebulous Grey, combined with a gloss black roof, black wheels, black exterior trim and red brake calipers.

Inside, the Emira Scura gets splashes of black Alcantara with contrasting red stitching. The steering wheel is also red, as are the seat belts. As a bonus, you get “Scura” badges inside and out. Privacy glass is also standard, adding a bit of color to the cabin for added darkness. In the render, even the front and rear lights look a little smokey.

Otherwise, it’s the Emira’s regular Sport chassis. Same suspension, Michelin Cup 2 tires, and 10-speaker KEF stereo. What’s unclear is what engines the Emira Scura will receive. No specific reference is made to the Scura being an exclusively V6-powered or turbocharged inline-four. It could be that customers can choose, meaning they should choose the manual V6 instead of the dual-clutch four-banger.

Emira Scura production starts now, so order now if you want a cool Emira.
