Nissan has confirmed that it is developing the new Skyline outside the US. It is expected to debut soon, and the automaker is giving a first look at the upcoming sports sedan.
The car has vertical front lighting elements and an angular face. Last year, Alfonso Albaisa, Nissan’s global design director, said the Skyline would be “inspired by the past,” but not “an exercise in retro styling.”
This inspiration includes maintaining the round rear lights, which appear to protrude from the rear fascia in the teaser image. It also shows “Skyline” lettering on the rear fender. Albaisa added that the car’s design will be “aggressive and modern, with proportions reminiscent of the original.”

While Nissan won’t sell the new Skyline in America, an Infiniti performance sedan based on the same platform is expected to be sold in the United States. These cars can wear Q50 or Q60 badges and feature unique front and rear styling.
The Nissan sedan is expected to feature a tuned version of the 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 engine. It makes 420 horsepower in the Z Nismo but is expected to make 450 hp in the Infiniti, which will drive the rear wheels and feature a manual transmission. The car will allegedly be positioned between the Z and GT-R.
