This is the Latest Kia EV3

  • The 2027 Kia EV3 is a compact electric crossover that promises a driving range of up to 320 miles.
  • The AWD model makes 261 horsepower, while the sporty EV3 GT makes 288 hp.
  • It looks like a smaller version of Kia’s equally great EVs, the EV6 and EV9.

Kia continues to deliver strong electric vehicle offerings, even as other automakers scale back their EV efforts. The latest to join the lineup is the all-new 2027 Kia EV3. It aims to provide the same quality experience as the EV6 and EV9, but in a much smaller package.

While Europe and Asia have enjoyed the EV3 for several years, now it’s our turn to try this compact electric crossover.

Standard Features Galore

The 2027 EV3 comes loaded with standard features. Kia has equipped it with the technology and amenities you’d expect to find in an EV9, rather than in a smaller, much cheaper vehicle.

Even in the base model, the EV3 features nearly 30 inches of total dashboard display. You have a pair of 12.3-inch displays combined into one panel. Underneath is a 5.0-inch temperature control panel. Your front passengers will thank you for the dual-zone automatic climate control, while your rear passengers will enjoy the reclining rear seats.

But if you want to step it up, you can equip the EV3 with a head-up display, heated and ventilated front seats, multi-color ambient lighting, and a 360-degree surround-view monitor.

Power, Range and Charging Speed

The 2027 Kia EV3 uses the E-GMP platform. It’s a 400-volt system available with a standard 58.3 kWh battery or an 81.4 kWh long-range battery. The standard range package is only offered on the Light trim, which only comes with FWD. The other four trims (Wind, Land, GT-Line, and GT) come with bigger packages, and you can charge from 10-80 percent in about 31 minutes with a DC Fast Charger.

Wind and Land models come standard with FWD, but AWD is also available. Meanwhile, the GT-Line and GT only have AWD. However, all versions have the original NACS charging port.

Kia didn’t mention power output for any of the FWD models. However, it has an estimated mileage. The standard-range Light should be capable of a range of 220 miles, while the long-range FWD EV3 offering is capable of up to 320 miles. In terms of power, the EV3 produces 261 horsepower in the AWD model. This figure increases to 288 hp on the EV3 GT.

Many Styles In A Small Package

Short overhangs are common on most electric vehicles today. The EV3 wears it well, as does the familiar Kia front fascia and daytime running lights. Standard wheel size is a 17.0-inch rim, but you can specify up to 19.0-inch wheels depending on the trim.

Inside, Kia manages to provide a lot of space in such a small package. The rear seats feature a 60/40 split, there’s underfloor storage in the rear, a small boot in the nose, and room for stuff in front of the center console as you can retract the cupholders.

The Sportiest EV3—GT

The EV3 GT won’t be as loud as the EV6 GT. The 576 hp electric rocket is an absolute blast to play with, even if you’ll quickly break your tire budget. Meanwhile, the EV3 GT delivers more reasonable power levels coupled with styling upgrades to differentiate it from the rest of the lineup.

All models get MacPherson strut front suspension and multi-link rear suspension, but the EV3 GT gets a sportier feel. Kia engineers also used different pitches for the steering settings. A set of unique 19.0-inch wheels are standard, as are green brake caliper covers.

Inside, Kia equipped the GT with sport bucket front seats, a different steering wheel, and neon green trim accents.

Price and Sale Date

Kia is currently still silent regarding price details. The automaker said it will share more as the EV3’s on-sale date approaches, targeted for late 2026.

However, if we had to speculate, there’s no reason to believe that the base model won’t sell in the mid-$30,000s, with the top-end GT coming in under the $50k mark.
