2022 Ford Everest Rugged SUV Teaser Video Announces March 1 Debut

After unveiling the next-generation Ranger in mid-November 2021, it makes sense that Ford is now gearing up to introduce an equivalent SUV. The revamped Everest has been teased, and this latest preview announces its world premiere will take place on March 1. Like the outgoing model and previous ones, the body-on-frame sports vehicle will not be sold in America. The state where the Broncos rule.

Its appearance inside and out is largely predictable as we were all expecting to see a Ranger SUV. That doesn’t mean it will disappoint because the midsize pickup truck looks quite attractive. Whether we’re talking entry-level workhorses with glorious steel or high-end trim levels, the VW Amarok rival has a lot of appeal in its new generation. It should be the same story as its SUV counterpart.

One advantage of the Everest over the Bronco is the availability of a third row to accommodate up to seven people. Being a model that is sold in several places around the world, this new SUV will still use a diesel engine. One of the most important novelties the 2022 Ranger brings is the larger V6 oil burner, which will find its way under the hood of Everest.

Looking at some of the technical details released by Blue Oval for the Ranger, it’s worth noting that the wheelbase has been extended to 50 millimeters (two inches). The distance between Everest’s axles will also have to increase, meaning there will be more legroom for passengers sitting in the back. In addition, the rear track of the pickup is wider than before by the same amount, which in turn will have a positive impact on the cargo capacity of the SUV.

Talking about the cabin, design director Max Wolff said Ford has “created a sanctuary with premium appointments where customers can feel relaxed and in control, no matter what’s going on outside.” He went on to detail “the company’s intention from the start was to communicate the capabilities of the next generation of Everest with a modern and robust exterior design.”

While the Ranger will get the Raptor treatment with the EcoBoost V6 on February 22, it’s too early to say whether the Everest will spawn a faster version as well.
