VW Golf GTI, Golf R Get Visual Upgrade With New Aftermarket Goodies

[ad_1]

Volkswagen revealed the Golf GTI and Golf R to the US about six months ago. Today, the company announced a new range of aftermarket accessories for the hot hatch. The knick-knacks provide minor visual changes to the five doors with new lighting elements, unique wheel covers and new body components.

“The GTI is our most storied enthusiast vehicle,” said Hein Schafer, VW America’s senior VP of product marketing and strategy. “Owners have a history of selecting cars to fit their personality and lifestyle, and we are proud to offer a dynamic selection catalog to help them do so.”

The new body parts come from the company’s ongoing collaboration with Oettinger, which designs new GTI components. VW is offering owners a new front chin spoiler ($510), a sportier rear diffuser ($591) and a roof spoiler ($510). VW says any independent VW dealer or auto body repair shop can paint and install parts.

VW also offers a new Dynamic Wheel Center cap, which features the GTI or R logo. The cap is designed to keep the logo level and upright even as the wheels and tires move. The new hats will be available in early 2022, so VW doesn’t list GTI or R caps only just. However, the list of Dynamic hats with the VW logo has a price tag of $181 for a set of four.

The last thing VW sold for the GTI was a dynamic turn signal for the rearview mirror. They are from Osram. The sequential signal travels from the inner housing to the outer edge of the mirror. They sell for $265 for a pair, and no reprogramming is required. These are just a few of the latest aftermarket parts and accessories that VW has to offer for the new Golf GTI and R. Unfortunately, the company did not introduce anything new for the interior.
