Hyundai doesn’t sell the Palisade in Europe, but that hasn’t stopped it from testing a facelifted version near the Arctic Circle. Actually, the previous statement is not entirely accurate as this big SUV is also available in Russia where it is also manufactured. Small crossovers Creta and Sonata are also on sale in Putin’s country. Positioned above Santa Fe, the three-row family carrier is gearing up for a nip and tuck set that’s due to arrive later this year.
We’ve seen those wheels before, specifically at the highest Calligraphy trim levels where the 20-inch set shares the same angular and asymmetrical design. The redesigned front grille peeking through the mesh looks quite luxurious and further suggests we’re looking at the cream of the crop. It is believed that Hyundai designers expanded the headlights to meet the grille to echo the latest Tucson.

Arranged vertically, the rectangular cutout in camouflage at the rear allows for an additional set of taillights mounted on the tailgate. There’s not much else we can see for now, though a lot of disguise could hide some of the changes to both bumpers. Side mirror covers with good turn signals will carry over.
Several test vehicles were captured some time ago at home in South Korea and the man with the camera took a snapshot of the interior. The cabin looks pretty much the same, although we’re sure Hyundai will make some changes to the trim and more, apart from updating the infotainment system to the latest version. There may also be more safety technology on board, and we’re not going to exclude the possibility of a hybrid and/or plug-in hybrid powertrain.
Based on a presentation shared with investors by Hyundai in May 2021, the facelifted Palisade will be out later this year along with a mid-cycle update to the Sonata.
