The Mercedes-Benz CLE-Class coupe will replace the two-door variants of the C- and E-Class. Plus, there will be a convertible version to replace the droptop model of the vehicle. This spy shot shows us not only the fixed roof CLE but also the inside view of the cabin.
Mercedes engineers weren’t ready to give up much camouflage yet. Up front, there is a horizontal bar on the grille, indicating that this is a non-AMG variant. That fast model is also coming.

The headlights are tilted downwards to point towards the center of the nose. The shape of the headlights is similar to what we saw on the next-generation Mercedes E-Class, which makes sense since the CLE replaces the two-door variant of the model.
On the side, you can see this coupe has a fairly large wheelbase. It seemed like there would be enough room to cram two people into the back.
The tail has a proper trunk, not a liftback layout. The camouflage hides many of the taillights, including the curved headlights at the bottom. In this non-AMG variant, the bumper hides the exhaust pipe.
This gallery includes photos of the CLE cabin with its upholstery. The driver holds a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel. Behind him, was a vast digital instrument cluster. The infotainment screen has a portrait layout and is tilted in the center stack. The bottom of the screen has the HVAC controls. There are stylish air vents with concentric metal elements and a rectangular section in the middle.
The CLE-Class uses the MRA-2 platform, which the new C-Class also has. This allows both models to share the same powertrain. This means the 2.0-liter turbocharged electric engine of the new AMG C63 could be one of the offerings.
In addition to the coupe and convertible, there are rumors about the CLE-Class Shooting Brake. However, we haven’t seen any spy shots of this variant.
We expect the CLE-Class to debut before the end of 2022. It’s unclear if we’ll see a convertible and a coupe at the same time or if the company plans to launch this variant. Look for the first of them to start in 2023.
