Watch Koenigsegg CC850 Get Its First Wash and Details

How far can you make the look of the all-new Koenigsegg CC850? If you’re Larry Kosilla from Ammo NYC, then the answer is that supercars can shine brighter.

This CC850 is the same one from the Monterey Car Week look. Now on to the presentation in New York and then a showcase for the rich people who live in the Hamptons. But first, Ammo NYC gets a chance to detail the engine.

Before pulling him into the laundry room, Kosilla had to ride a shotgun in the CC850. A man named Christer was behind the wheel. He accompanies the supercar at various stops around the world. The engine clearly sounds like nothing else in the way and emits flames from the exhaust as the engine spins.

Kosilla was impressed with the paint quality of the CC850 because it maximized the gauge he used to measure thickness. Koenigsegg puts the vehicle through a 25-step painting process to achieve this condition.

Don’t expect transformative cleaning like the ones found in the Ammo NYC warehouse, but the results are impressive nonetheless. The process starts with just a general cleaning. After that, the CC850 gets a Reflex Pro enamel finish. Once the substance has cured, the dirt will have a harder time adhering to the paint.

Having the CC850 in his shop was such a big deal that the local mayor even stopped by to take a look at Koenigsegg.

Koenigsegg is building 70 CC850s, up from an initial plan to build 50. It packs 1,385 horsepower (1,033 kilowatts) from a twin-turbo 5.0-liter V8 that produces 1,185 horsepower (884 kilowatts) at pump gas or 1,385 hp (1,033 kW) on the E85.

What makes the CC850 so new is the transmission. Drivers can operate it with a traditional six-speed manual with a clutch or a notch shifter to the automatic position where the gearbox has nine gears. Plus, depending on the driving mode, the gear ratio may change for manual settings.
