Andrea Dovizioso raced his last race in Misano last September 4th, but on Tuesday 6th he was back on track for the first day of IRTA test. She completed just 16 laps in the morning session, before finally taking off her premier class suit and helmet. His times were nothing exceptional, in fact he wasn’t trying any upgrades to his Yamaha M1, but a special helmet.

It was a request from the renowned company Alpinestars who asked him to try the new Supertech R10 helmet, on sale from next year, characterized by a carbon fiber shell. Actually it is not the first time that Andrea Dovizioso he wore this helmet, according to rumors he would have carried out private tests riding a super sports car on behalf of the Asolo brand. At the moment there are no further details on the technical characteristics of his competition helmet.

The 36-year-old from Forlì will immediately devote himself to his great passion for motocross, will carry out some national level races and has in mind a prestigious project that he will soon unveil. Unfortunately it wasn’t an exciting farewell for the three-time vice world champion, but at Misano the spotlight was all for him: “I wasn’t expecting so much encouragement“, Dovizioso admitted at the end of the San Marino GP.

From today his life will change, he will miss the relationships within the paddock and with the sponsors, the adrenaline of the races, the thrill of a victory (15 victories in the premier class). “When you are a World Championship rider, the attention you receive is enormous, from the sponsors and from all the people. I’m not the attention-seeking type. But I’ve been living it for 20 years… This will change now, every rider will have to adapt to normal life… Relationships with others aren’t always easy, but we’re talking about people who can create something for you. It is a great thing“.

Now below with the project in the pipeline on the “Monte Coralli” slope in Faenza, Andrea Dovizioso will have to create something for others. The only certainty for now is the maximum dedication to motocross: “I’ll go back to what I interrupted in the middle of last year: I’ll race motocross, with a small van and a bratwurst at the end of the day. These are things that I really like“.
