For Alex Rins those of 2021-2022 were two difficult years. His last victory dates back to the 2020 Aragon GP, then a series of accidents, injuries and errors caused a decline in his performance, collecting just two podiums in this MotoGP World Championship. Fresh from seventh place in Misano, he goes in search of his fourth victory with Suzuki before saying goodbye at the end of the sixth season with the GSX-RR.

The House of Hamamatsu will leave the championship after the last stage in Valencia and for Alex Rins it will be time to move on LCR Honda to try out the RC213V. Not an easy bet for the Spaniard, aware that great names such as Jorge Lorenzo and Alex Marquez have failed with this bike, as well as a long-experienced rider like Pol Espargarò, who will return to KTM after two very complicated seasons in Repsol Honda.

Despite many difficulties, he never gave up Alex Rins, thanks to a very close-knit group of people around him. “It is true that there have been very good moments and others less so. But thanks to the people who support me and the team, my family, my coach, my psychologist, I have never thrown in the towel“. The relationship that binds him to his foreman is close Manu Cazeaux. He tried to take it with him to LCR, but the Golden Wing House relies only on its in-house technicians who already have experience with the box and the prototype.

The Andorran resident driver has tried in every possible way to convince the top of the team HRC, but there was nothing to be done. “I tried and they didn’t let me – he told in an interview with Dazn -. I understand, because I am going to a new place and in this place there are people who have been working for many years, I would have loved to have brought Manu with me (Cazeaux)… indeed all“.

He will find a new environment and new people around him, a bike that is currently in dire straits, struggling with many technical problems. “It won’t be easy, I know that well. Many tell me that if I’m crazy to go there with other options. We could have gone to Gresini with the Ducati, but we didn’t go there because in the end what I wanted was a factory bike and Gresini couldn’t give it to me. For this reason I opted for Honda and not for Ducati“.
