This Is What We Think The Ferrari Purosangue SUV Will Look Like

[ad_1]

Ferrari recently switched from testing its upcoming Purosangue under the Maserati Levante test mule to using a camouflaged production model body. Using the latest spy shots and videos as a guide, our artists create a rendering of what we expect when the camo comes off.

The Purosangue has a nose that curves downward from the windshield, and the headlights converge at the very end. There is a large trapezoidal lattice. The opening in the corner has an LED light above it.

Along the sides, the Purosangue has a clean style with soft curves along the doors. A sharp crease starting behind the front fender adds visual appearance to the wing.

This render doesn’t show the back of the Purosangue, and the tail is the part of the body that the Ferrari covers the most. Looks curved roof flowing into the hatchback. The raised camouflage section indicates there is a spoiler at the point where the tail becomes a flatter horizontal section.

The development vehicle has a pair of exhaust pipes coming out of each bottom corner. We hope the finisher looks nicer than the little circular tips seen in the spy shot.

We’re still not entirely sure what powertrain the Purosangue is using. A video of the crossover driving quietly hints that it will come with a hybrid. This engine can be a plug-in hybrid twin-turbo V6 from the 296 GTB where the factory produces 818 horsepower (610 kilowatts) and 546 pound-feet (740 Newton-meters) of torque. Rumors also suggest a V12 option that might come later.

Purosangue drives Ferrari’s new Front Mid Engine Architecture. This platform places the engine behind the front axle and a rear-mounted dual clutch gearbox. It has all-wheel drive.

Spy shots and video show the Purosangue at a fairly low altitude. However, it may have an adaptive suspension capable of lifting the vehicle for a tougher look. Don’t expect to take this Ferrari on a crawl or gallop through the desert, judging by what it looks like so far.

Ferrari announced the Purosangue in 2018 and promised to debut the model before the end of 2022. We’ll finally get to see the long-awaited model in a few months. Shipping starts in 2023.
