The curtain falls on the Misano Grand Prix, an event that attracted over 100,000 spectators over the three days. Certainly not record numbers, but the round of the Rimini Riviera holds a blow and does not feel too much the blow of the farewell of Valentino Rossi in terms of presence in the stands. But the MotoGP caravan has not yet disassembled the pits from the racetrack named after Marco Simoncelli, because two days of official tests will take place on Tuesday 6 and Wednesday 7 September.

It will be the right opportunity to try out new components and updates for the next World Championship. But above all it will be an opportunity to review the work Marc Marquez after the three-month stop following the fourth surgery on the right arm. The last outing of the Honda champion dates back to the Mugello GP last May, then he returned to Spain and flew to the USA for the operation at the Mayo Clinic. The doctors have given the green light, the bone has solidified and he can get back on the saddle.

The Misano test it will have a double value for the eight-time world champion: to release useful data on the new material available to the RC213V and to better evaluate his physical conditions. It will be important to understand how your arm and shoulder will react after intense work. The champion will also have a new aluminum frame made by Kalex that will be made available to him and Stefan Bradl.

In the Yamaha pits, a new engine specification is expected for the M1’s Fabio Quartararo and Franco Morbidelli, after the continuous and justified requests of the Nice champion. Few innovations, on the other hand, will pass through the Ducati pits, in full thanks in this phase of the championship. Further updates could arrive in the Valencia test in November or in the 2023 preseason. There will also be something to do in Aprilia, in its last season with concessions, and in KTM, which is pushing to catch up with the competition.

There will be no live TV coverage for the Misano MotoGP test. You can turn from 10:00 to 18:00, scheduled for one hour lunch break from 13:00 to 14:00. Rest days will follow for the MotoGP riders in view of the next Aragon GP scheduled from 23 to 25 September. Fabio Quartararo is still in the lead, but the advantage from direct rival Pecco Bagnaia has narrowed to 30 points after the race in San Marino won by the Piedmontese rider of the Lenovo Ducati team.
