Citroen My Ami Tonic Is A Funky Take On Electric Microcar

Although not widely available in the United States, the Citroen Ami is one of our favorite new vehicles. This is a cute electric micro car that 14 year olds can drive without a driver’s license in some European countries. Now ready to launch in the UK and there is a new special edition model to celebrate the UK market launch.

The so-called My Ami Tonic features a unique khaki and yellow exterior color scheme and bespoke wheel covers. There are also new decorative roof rails, although they cannot support the roof cargo box. Also new to this special edition model are a pair of headlamp bezels with a design inspired by sunglasses.

Inside the cabin, the funky theme continues with the + and – stickers on the A-pillars, as well as yellow accents that match the exterior trim. The door pulls, bag hooks and two front panels are painted in yellow with contrasting khaki accents on the dashboard. If you have difficulty using door and window handles, the yellow directional arrows will guide you.

As standard, the Citroen My Ami Tonic comes with a smartphone holder, three storage compartments, door net, bag hook, all-season floor mat and a central dividing net. A dedicated dongle is used to connect your smartphone with a special My Ctrieon application which provides more information about the vehicle.

No mechanical upgrades were introduced and the My Ami tonic continues to be powered by an electric motor producing 8 horsepower (6 kilowatts). The 5.5 kilowatt-hour battery pack supplies electrical energy, providing a range between two charges of up to 43.5 miles (70 kilometers) depending on driving style and road conditions. The top speed is just 28 miles per hour (45 kilometers per hour).

Depending on the market, the Ami is also sold as a cargo vehicle for small town deliveries. Just earlier this year, Citroen introduced a buggy version with visual improvements, although it is no longer available as it quickly sold out.
