Ford, Advanced Racing Creates a Ford GT-branded Sim Racing Cockpit

Video games can only recreate part of the driving experience. Yes, it’s fun to drive a million-dollar supercar on the world’s most famous race tracks, sometimes even thrilling, but doing it with your feet up and a bowl of chips next to you on the couch feels like cheating. Racing seats and cockpit settings take the experience to the next level, and a new setting from Next Level Racing brings a bit of Ford GT into the game space.

NLR and Team Fordzilla, Ford Motor Company’s esports division, have created a licensed gaming rig. It’s called the cockpit of the GTElite Ford GT Edition, with some touches reminiscent of the iconic Blue Oval supercar. It is made of a blue anodized aluminum frame in the iconic Ford brand colors. The frame features the laser engraved Ford GT branding, twin GT stripes, and the Blue Oval Ford badge.

The entire rig has many adjustments to find the perfect racing position. It even includes height-adjustable shock-absorbing feet. Racers can even adjust the height, distance and angle of the pedals for maximum comfort. NLR says the rig is compatible with main wheel, shifter, and pedal manufacturers like Fanatec, Logitec, Thrustmaster, Moza and others.

NLR and Team Fordzilla also have branded race seats available as the rigs and seats are sold separately. The ES1 Ford GT seat is equipped with a branded four-point racing belt and aTeam Fordzilla branded floor mat. The GT logo is even embossed onto the seat headrests.

The rig and seat are sold separately, and both go on sale this October. Rigs and rails will retail for $799, according to the website, while seats will cost an additional $499. It’s not cheap equipment to add to one’s game setup, but it does enhance the racing experience. If you want to see if you like racing with such settings, you can make your own first. It won’t look dashing in your living room, but it’s better to get a feel for it before buying it. Oh, and it’s great to make sure it fits too.
