2023 Cadillac Escalade Trailering Package Currently Unavailable

Cadillac Society have learned that the Cadillac Escalade 2023 has become the latest victim of ongoing supplier and production constraints, with the Heavy Duty Trailer Package currently not available to order on the full-size luxury SUV.

The Heavy Duty Trailer Package (production code ZM1) is typically offered on the Cadillac Escalade Premium Luxury, Sport, Premium Luxury Platinum, Sport Platinum, and Escalade-V 2023 trims. It is not offered at all on the base Luxury trim. The package includes the following content (relevant production code listed in brackets):

• Additional trailer camera, LPO (TRO)
• Two-speed electronic transfer box, four-wheel drive models only, not including Escalade-V (NQH)
• Trailer Tire Pressure Monitoring System (PTT)
• Trailer Assistance Guide (THS)
• Extra capacity cooling system, only for 6.2L V8 (V03) engine

The Heavy Duty Trailer Package costs $600 across all trim levels with available. However, to add a package to the Cadillac Escalade Premium Luxury 2023, the $2,700 Performance Package must also be selected. At this time, it is unclear what caused the package to be unavailable, or when it may be available again.

The Heavy Duty Trailer Pack gives the Cadillac Escalade 2023 the ability to tow 500 pounds more safely than the unpackaged Escalade. The model has a naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 petrol engine (production code L87) with 420 horsepower and 460 foot-pounds of torque under the hood can tow 7,500 pounds without the package, and 8,000 pounds with the package for the rear-wheel-drive model. The four-wheel drive model can tow 7,300 pounds without the package and 7,800 pounds with the package.

For models with a 3.0L I6 turbodiesel (production code LM2) with 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, towing capacity remains the same with or without the Heavy Duty Trailer Package. For rear-wheel drive models with diesel engines, the maximum towing limit is 7,900 pounds, while four-wheel drive models can tow 7,700 pounds. Meanwhile, the very high-performance Cadillac Escalade-V has a maximum towing capacity of 7,000 pounds.
