Cadillac Lyriq AWD Torque Rating Finalized In North America

[ad_1]

The Cadillac Lyriq 2023 is the first electric vehicle in the luxury marque’s lineup. While the initial batch of all-electric luxury crossovers were only rear-wheel-drive, a more powerful all-wheel-drive model would come later in the 2023 model year. Now, Cadillac Society have studied the torque ratings of Lyriq AWD models for North American models.

Cadillac has finalized the torque and power ratings for the Lyriq AWD which will be sold in North America with 450 pound-feet (610 Nm) of torque and 500 horsepower (373 kW). That’s a healthy improvement over the rear-drive model with 325 pound-feet (440 Nm) of torque and 340 horsepower (255 kW). The increase in power and torque is the result of a second Ultium Drive motor mounted on the front axle.

It’s worth noting that earlier this year, Cadillac China released its own torque figures for the upcoming Lyriq AWD model. The figures state that the electric luxury crossover will be capable of 524 pound-feet of torque, which is more than the North American variant. The reason for the difference in torque ratings between the two markets is currently unclear.

As a reminder, the upcoming Cadillac Lyriq Luxury AWD 2023 model will feature an 11.5 kW charger that will be able to add about 37 miles of range in an hour of charge (via 240 V2 charging). In comparison, the Cadillac Lyriq Debut Edition as well as the RWD model net 52 miles per hour charging thanks to a 19.2 kW charging capacity. Additionally, Lyriq AWD models will also be DC Fast Charging (DCFC) compatible at available stations, with a range of 76 miles per 10 minutes of charge, equivalent to rear-wheel drive Lyriq units.

Additionally, the Cadillac Lyriq Luxury AWD 2023 trim level will include a Trailering setup package as standard, which the luxury electric crossover can pull up to 3,500 pounds. The first AWD models are expected to go into production by the end of the year at Cadillac’s Spring Hill plant in Tennessee before deliveries begin in early 2023.
