The Super Bowl commercial for the BMW iX electric crossover stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Greek god Zeus and Salma Hayek as the goddess Hera. The humorous ad depicts gods retiring and moving from Mount Olympus to Palm Springs, California.
Unfortunately, the modern world is no match for Zeus. While he enjoys lazing by the pool, the Greek god struggles to use the microwave and light switch, which is odd for a diet that controls electricity.

However, things got better when Hera showed up with the new BMW iX. Zeus loved the vehicle, and the couple enjoyed an Eddy Grant classic Electric Road when taking the drive. Also, note the smart disclaimer at the bottom of the screen: “Perennial professional drivers on closed lanes.”
The commercial ends with the pair singing along to the song. Zeus uses his ability to shoot electricity to turn all traffic lights green. Hera smiled meaningfully at the camera.
This 60-second commercial will play during the third commercial break during the first quarter of the Super Bowl.
The iX is available in the US as xDrive50. This model uses a pair of electric motors to produce a total of 516 horsepower (385 kilowatts) and 564 pound-feet (765 Newton-meters) of torque. It has a 111.5 kilowatt-hour battery pack. Depending on the choice of wheels and tires, The EPA estimate range is between 305 and 324 miles. Prices start at $84,195 after a $995 destination fee.
The iX M60 is on its way as a more powerful option across a range of models. That makes 610 hp (449 kW) and 811 lb-ft (1,100 Nm) in Sport mode with Launch Control enabled or 532 hp (391 kW) and 749 lb-ft (1,015 nm) in normal settings. The 111.5-kWh battery provides an estimated range of 280 miles.
Other features include standard air suspension, electronically controlled shock absorbers and rear wheel steering. It also gets M Performance brakes with blue calipers.
The iX M60 went on sale in the US in June with a starting price of $106,095.
