Perfect for a one-car garage, the Audi RS6 is an all-in-one car offering an extraordinary blend of luxury, performance and practicality. It’s a breath of fresh air to share in the RS, AMG, and M SUV world, provided you can handle the hefty asking price. The Four Rings are nearly finished with combustion engine development, but there’s still life left in the twin-turbo V8. More power behind it for the 4.0 liter, and it’s coming soon.
In an interview with an Australian publication wheel, Audi’s spokesperson for the A6 and R8 lineup strongly hints at a larger RS6. When asked about the prospect of doing another RS6 Performance, Eva Stania said “wait and see,” adding the Ingolstadt-based marque had “a few ideas, so just wait and see.” As if that wasn’t enough, he made it clearer:
“You drive the RS6 C7 as the Performa. We recently launched the R8 RWD as the Performa, so you can rest assured that we will follow through on the Performance strategy.”

But wait, there’s more. wheel citing an Audi insider who claims the “very special” RS6 Avant will arrive at some point after the Performance. The super wagon is already a force to be reckoned with, packing 591 horsepower (441 kilowatts) and 800 Newton-meters (590 pound-feet) of torque in the standard RS6 sold today.
However, the VW Group uses this engine in a variety of high-end products, including the Lamborghini Urus which produces an extra 50 hp (37 kW) and 50 Nm (37 lb-ft). Even more power could be on the way for the Sant’Agata Bolognese SUV with an upcoming facelift thought to carry a spicy Evo flavour.
The performance of the RS6 is expected to come before the end of the year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the modelth anniversary, but the special train isn’t likely to arrive until near the middle of the decade. The next-generation model has been confirmed to have a plug-in hybrid powertrain and it will be the last RS6 to use a combustion engine. As a refresher, all products that Audi will launch from 2026 are EVs.
