Chill Like A Villain With Ice Cream Flavors Inspired By Porsche Colors

We’ve seen so many commercials in our lives as automotive journalists that we thought nothing would surprise us now, but not today. In a cool way to showcase its custom colors, Porsche North America collaborated with Pretty Cool Ice Cream to bring Americans a taste of the automaker’s paint colors in the form of ice cream.

No, the ice cream flavor has no paint in it. Instead, a small, handcrafted ice cream company in Chicago, Illinois produces custom flavors inspired by a number of Porsche’s special colors. Even better, the special ice cream flavor (with the same special packaging) is delivered in a custom Porsche 911, as seen in the video above.

This limited edition ice cream pop was created to commemorate National Ice Cream Day on July 17. The five flavors are Mint Green, Strawberry Red, Macadamia Metallic, Frozen Berry Metallic, and Lime Gold Metallic – each with a different recipe.

“This is a fun project and we hope it will evoke smiles, like the customizable colors available on all of our cars. We really don’t think there’s much cooler than one of our custom colors for the Porsche of your dreams, but ice this cream might beat it,” said Ayesha Coker, vice president of marketing for Porsche Cars North America.

Little does anyone know, Pretty Cool Ice Cream owner Dana Salls Cree actually grew up close to the brand. Uncle Cree, nicknamed “Targa Dan,” has a passion for restoring Porsche vehicles, with more than 200 cars brought back to life over a 50-year period.

“Similar to all Porsche sports cars, ice cream is really a passion project that I really wanted to share,” said Cree.

The limited edition Porsche x Pretty Cool Ice Cream is available at ice cream maker locations in Chicago on July 17. This ice cream will also be available at certain Porsche events this year.
