2023 Ford Maverick Tremor Revealed With Upgraded Off-Road Mechanics

After the Ranger, F-150, and Super Duty, Ford has once again scaled back the Tremor recipe for a new Maverick flavor featuring various upgrades. This compact truck gets more than just a visual tweak as the Blue Oval has reworked the suspension to accommodate the different springs and shocks at the front and rear axles. It is now an inch (25 millimeters) taller and has received a larger half axle as well as a heavy-duty transmission cooler.

But wait, there’s more. The Maverick Tremor also gets a cruise control system on par with Ford for off-roading. This is called Trail Control and is exclusive to this version, allowing the driver to choose the speed at which the small truck will travel over dirt and/or mud by automatically controlling throttle and braking. Wrapped in all-terrain tires, the unique 17-inch alloy wheels have a dark anodized finish and Tremor Orange accents.

To complement the mechanical upgrades, the Maverick Tremor has a new front grille and blackened Ford badge while the headlights and taillights have also been tinted. For an additional fee, customers can order the truck with the Tremor Appearance Package which adds black side graphics to the underbody and bonnet, while the mirror caps and roof are painted in Carbonized Grey.

Stepping inside, the Black Onyx upholstery is decorated with Tremor logo stitching and orange accents are also visible on the door pulls, center console, and several air vents.

The Off-Road Tremor package is available for an additional $2,995 on the XLT and Lariat trim levels with the standard 2.5-liter hybrid powertrain or the optional 2.0-liter EcoBoost with all-wheel drive. The electrification arrangement sends power to the front axle via a continuously variable transmission while the gas-only engine runs on an eight-speed automatic and can power all four wheels. Plus, the Tremor Appearance Pack will set you back $1,495.

Ford will begin production of the Maverick 2023 in Mexico this fall and both packages will be available to order starting next month.
