We mean literally, as the Lego Technic representation of the black Dom’s Dodge Charger from Fast and furious refuses to separate despite serious harassment on the treadmill. What are you waiting for?
Lego crash tests are something we see from time to time, but it’s a big deal in lego life channel on YouTube. There are plenty of videos featuring everything from Lego pickup trucks to eight-wheeled off-roaders, construction equipment, and even some Batmobiles. The Charger clip was published on July 22; it caught our attention while flying through the air in preview so of course we clicked to see the carnage. Imagine our surprise, however, when it wasn’t there. Well, almost nothing.

The test started off fairly easy, rolling on the treadmill in a mock race with the newest Batmobile at just a few mph. Things escalated from there with thick speed bumps dropped onto the conveyor, but the plush Lego Technic kit has functional suspension that absorbs most of the impact. The treadmill speed was increased to 14 mph, which doesn’t sound like much but in the context of a 1:13 scale car, it’s not far from 200 mph. And remember, this is a car made of plastic edges clicked together.
From there, the test actually ramps with jumps of various sizes falling onto the treadmill. To make it a little more dramatic, a blue Lego Technic pin tray was added like the proverbial fruit stand during a Hollywood car chase. The black charger jumps, hits the pins, jumps and crashes again, lands, and keeps spinning. This Engineering Kit is rather complex with working suspension, steering and an engine equipped with moving pistons and a spinning supercharger, but the brick explosion we’ve been waiting for never comes. The only damage suffered was part of the gray grille that came off on the passenger side after the final jump.
The Dom’s Dodge Charger was released as a Lego Technic kit in 2020. Except for unknown modifications to this car, perhaps the indestructible myth of the Fast franchise extends to the Lego universe as well.
