Skoda Enyaq One-Time Camper Revealed With Roof Tent And Extendable Bed

[ad_1]

Skoda’s UK branch has found a clever way to highlight the practicality of the Enyaq by turning an electric SUV into a camper. They started with the most powerful rear-wheel drive version, dubbed the Enyaq iV 80, before giving it a roof-mounted awning accessible via stairs. It sleeps two people and can be set up and down in just minutes. It comes along with a solar powered fan, a built-in torch, and a net for storage.

Two more people can sleep in the extendable bed that stretches across the back bench. The double bed frame can be installed in just a few minutes and maximizes the Enyaq’s 1,710 liter cargo volume when the rear seats are folded. To increase the practicality of the EV, Skoda UK installed a sliding box engineered by Czech company EGOE. It includes not only a gas hob but also a collapsible sink with a faucet and hose.

You can still use the back seat when the storage box is installed, which has plenty of storage and preparation areas for your food of choice. Rounding out the tweak are the camping chairs and tables that take seconds to fold and unfold along with the feel for extra privacy.

With the single-motor, rear-wheel-drive model equipped with an 82-kWh battery, that means the Enyaq iV 80 can travel up to 338 miles (544 kilometers) between charges per WLTP. It has about 200 horsepower and 310 Newton-meters (228 pound-feet) on tap for a 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) run in eight and a half seconds.

FestEVal as it’s been dubbed by Skoda UK won’t go into production as it’s just a unique build, but that doesn’t stop you from getting your hands on the Enyaq and buying additional camping gear separately. Lest we forget there was a camper conversion of the classic 1203 van, and Skoda even digitally envisioned last year’s modern successor.
