Father Builds Amazing Wooden Tank For His Son

Buying a car for your son is one thing, but building one out of wood is another. However, this Vietnamese dad went a step further and built something different – a wooden version of his son’s favorite tank from video games.

YouTuber ND – Carpentry ArtHis latest project is not the wooden car we usually see on the channel. This time, his son’s wish is a tank from a video game World of Tanks. Unlike the previous tank that the same YouTuber built from a revamped Mitsubishi Delica van, the wooden tank is built and runs differently. It uses tracks and sprockets to move, not just the wheels.

The YouTuber started off by making wooden frames and “sprockets”. Pay attention to the quotes as there are metal sprockets that are actually used to connect the tracks; the wooden ones are just for aesthetics. Using two electric motors, the two tracks move in two directions, which allows the tank to perform actual tank turns with relative ease. The wooden tank even has a rotating cylinder in the middle, complete with a bazooka nozzle to complete the look.

Meanwhile, the real hard work starts with the body panels and details which are all made of wood. The entire project took three months to complete and given the amount of work YouTubers had to go through, we weren’t really surprised by the timeline.

It’s important to note that the wooden tank appears to be ordered by the video game World of Tanks due to the placement of the logo, both on the video and on the tank itself. Regardless, we really appreciate the YouTuber’s skill and ingenuity we’ve seen in previous works, such as the cool wooden Bugatti Centodieci scale model.
