2023 Cadillac Lyriq Is Now Arriving At U.S. Dealers

The first units of the all-new Cadillac Lyriq 2023 have started arriving at dealerships in the US, with the first examples landing at dealerships in Michigan during July 4.^th weekend.

The first Cadillac Lyriq 2023 arrived at Cadillac Novi during the first weekend of July, while the LaFontaine Cadillac in Highland, Michigan received the second unit. A Cadillac representative explained to Detroit Free Press that the first Lyriq will be delivered to markets where demand for luxury electric crossovers is high. This includes the cities of New York, Detroit and Los Angeles. All of these markets receive the same priority, but the vehicle carrier arrives in Detroit before the other two cities.

The demand for the Cadillac Lyriq 2023 proved to be quite significant. When reservations for the Lyriq Debut Edition opened last year, they were sold out in less than 10 minutes. From there, Cadillac decided to no longer make reservations, and went straight to ordering. The orders bank opened in May, but filled up very quickly. This, in turn, prompted Cadillac to open pre-orders for the Cadillac Lyriq 2024.

Cadillac Novi noted that interested parties contacted them and offered $30,000 more than MSRP for the only Cadillac Lyriq 2023 in stock, which was already ordered for other customers. The dealership stated that it currently has 13 orders for the Cadillac Lyriq Luxury RWD 2023, and another 130 orders for the model year 2024 Lyriqs.

As a reminder, the Lyriq Debut Edition features a single Ultium Drive motor driving the rear wheels. This configuration is rated at 340 horsepower and 324 pound-feet of torque. The 100.4 kW battery pack is capable of 312 miles from a full charge. The upcoming Lyriq Luxury RWD model uses the same driveline, while the Luxury AWD model features a second motor on the front axle for an all-wheel-drive setup, producing 524 horsepower and a driving range of 287 miles.
