The Cadillac Escalade 2023 marks the third model year of the fifth generation of the iconic luxury SUV, which introduces several minor changes. One of them is the addition of the Adaptive Headlamp System. Cadillac Society has learned.

For those who are unaware, the Adaptive Headlamp System (production code UVG) uses a variety of technologies, including the vehicle’s front camera, multi-pixel headlights, GPS, vehicle sensors, and a sophisticated on-board computer that continuously scans the driver’s face. field of view more than 30 times per second. Using all of that, the system changes the LED pixels in the headlights to reduce glare for oncoming vehicles. Cadillac refers to the technology as the Adaptive Driving Beam, or ADB for short.

The Adaptive Headlight System for the Cadillac Escalade 2023 is offered as an optional addition to the Premium Luxury, Sport, Premium Luxury Platinum and Sport Platinum trim levels, along with the recently announced Escalade-V. It is not offered at all on the base Luxury trim.

To complete the Adaptive Headlamp System on the Escalade Premium Luxury and Sport trim levels, customers should opt for the Touring Package (production code ST1), which incorporates the following equipment (relevant production code in brackets):

  • Soft closed doors, front and rear (AF7)
  • Illumination threshold plate (B7G)
  • Air Ride Adaptive Suspension (F47)

Those who want to get the ADB system on the Escalade Premium Luxury also need to add a Performance Package (production code Z66) in addition to the Touring Package to complete the Adaptive Headlight System. The Performance Package includes the following tools:

  • Trailer Side Blind Zone (UKV) Warning
  • Electronic limited slip differential (G96)
  • Integrated trailer brake controller (JL1)
  • Magnetic Ride Control (Z95)
  • Hitch Guide with Hitch View (PZ8)
  • Intelligent Trailer Integration Indicator (UET)

Adaptive Driving Beam technology is offered on the 2022 Cadillac Escalade in Canada, and is now being carried over to US models for the 2023 model year. Pricing for this system has not been announced for customers in the US market, but for reference, it costs $1,100 CAN in Canada.
