Production Of 2023 Cadillac CT5 To Start In Mid July

The Cadillac CT5 2023 will go into production in exactly a week, Cadillac Society has learned.

According to our sources, production of the Cadillac CT5 2023 will begin on July 18thth2022. Originally, it was scheduled to start on July 11th, but delayed a week. Assembly of the CT5 luxury sedan lineup took place at the Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan, where the “regular” CT5 was built alongside the performance-oriented CT5-V and the ultra-high-performance CT5-V Blackwing.

While the “regular” CT5 and CT5-V will enter their fourth model year, the CT5-V Blackwing will enter its second year of production, introducing a special edition model – the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing 120 2023.th Birthday edition. This special variant of the super sedan commemorates the anniversary of the luxury brand. Each unit of this limited edition Blackwing CT5-V features a VIN series with a four-digit year that is important to Cadillac’s history, along with a special in-vehicle plaque, exclusive shifter medallion, and other aspects. Only 120 units of this variant will be produced.

The “regular” 2022 Cadillac CT5 offers two engine options. The 2.0L I4 turbocharged (production code LSY), with 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, is standard on the Luxury, Premium Luxury and Sport trim levels. Models with this engine wear the 350T badge on the decklid. The twin-turbo 3.0L V6 (production code LGY) is optional on the CT5 Premium Luxury, where it produces 335 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque, identified by the 550T badge. Rear-wheel drive is standard on this model, while all-wheel drive is a paid addition. A twin-turbo 3.0L six-cylinder (LGY) is also found under the hood of the CT5-V, where it is tuned to produce 360 ​​horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque.

Meanwhile, the CT5-V Blackwing has a supercharged 6.2L V8 engine (production code LT4), which is capable of producing 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque. The engine is connected to a standard six-speed automatic transmission or an optional 10-speed automatic, sending power exclusively to the two rear wheels.
