The Adria Supersonic Could Be The Best Sprinter-Based RV We’ve Ever Seen

Time and time again we’ve seen Mercedes Sprinter-based motor homes, and rightfully so. It’s a great base for a house on wheels, especially with the automotive technology that German vans have to offer. However, if we want to choose the best on the market today, we should probably go for this – the Adria Supersonic.

As Adria’s top spec nameplate, the Supersonic offers the finest quality materials and cabin setup you’d expect from a luxury compact motorhome. Adria is a Slovenian company that has been making caravans, motor homes and mobile homes since the 60s.

The Adria Supersonic is available in four models/layouts – 780 SL, 780 DC, 890 LL and 890 LC – with two lengths varying according to customer requirements. The Model 890 has a larger bathroom and more storage compartments. All layouts seat and sleep up to at least four people, while weighing in at 12,125 pounds (5,500 kilograms) for the largest variant.

What you will love about Adria is the materials used and the clever layout in the living room, kitchen, bedroom and even the bathroom. Slides and swivels ensure that space is maximized, while multiple storage points are neatly integrated in different parts of the cab. The over-cab double bed was pretty good, especially with the electronic controls. The aptly named lounge area features an L-shaped sofa for maximum comfort.

Whichever model you choose, the Adria Supersonic is powered by the 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine found in Mercedes’ signature 2023 Sprinter that produces 168 horsepower (125-kilowatt) and 295 pound-feet (400 Newton-meters) of torque. This oil burner is connected to a 9G-Tronic automatic transmission.

As you’d expect, the Adria Supersonic isn’t cheap. The entry-level model starts at around $142,000, while the top-spec configuration should ask for around $162,000.
