First 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V Sells For $525,000 At Auction

The first Cadillac Escalade-V 2023 was recently sold at Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas, priced at $525,000 to benefit the Pensole Lewis College of Business & Design.

The Cadillac Escalade-V has not yet entered production at the Arlington plant, meaning the VIN 001 SUV will be delivered to its new owners at a later date. Instead, a pre-production Escalade-V placeholder is present in the auction block. Buyers will choose the Cadillac dealer of choice where their high-performance SUV will be delivered.

In addition to receiving the first Escalade-V model launched off the assembly line, the winning bidder will also have the opportunity to work with Dr. D’Wayne Edwards, renowned athletic footwear designer and founder of Pensole Lewis College, to design an exclusive pair of sneakers that will be produced in a very limited capacity. The luxury brand also donated a track day at Ron Fellows Spring Mountain driving school, as well as a digitally printed copy depicting the SUV.

“On behalf of everyone at Pensole Lewis College of Business & Design, we are thrilled to be collaborating with Barrett-Jackson and Cadillac as the first-ever Escalade V-series auctioneer,” said Dr. Edwards in a statement. “Car enthusiasts know better than most that the art of design goes beyond the eyes and into the soul. From what we wear to what we ride, design is an expression of who we are, and we are proud that the proceeds from this auction are an investment in the next generation of creative design.”

The Cadillac Escalade-V 2023 is powered by the luxury marque’s supercharged V8 engine (production code LT4), which makes 682 horsepower and 653 pound-feet of torque, making it the most powerful vehicle the luxury marque has ever produced. Cadillac’s 10-speed automatic transmission delivers all that power to the pavement, connecting to a full-time four-wheel drive drivetrain for the best takeoff and traction.
