The Hyundai Ioniq 6 has finally revealed its undisguised body and interior. For now, the company is only highlighting the design of the upcoming electric sedan. The technical info reportedly arrived on July 14th.
Hyundai’s teaser for the Ioniq 6 calls the vehicle an “electric slimmer,” and the company isn’t lying. The body has a curved shape that makes it look like the car is about to slide through the air. The relationship of the design to the previous concept of Prophecy is clear. At the moment, we don’t have details about the drag coefficient of the model to know how aerodynamic it really is.

The front end has a clean minimalist style. The lower fascia covers the vertical sections on each side. The hood is smooth, and the raised section for the headlights leads to the A-pillar.
Along the sides, a curved belt line along the door accentuates the curvature of the roof. There are some fine carvings along the bottom of the door. The vehicle in these images has a rear-facing camera instead of a mirror. The wheel has a complex and asymmetrical spoke pattern.
The Ioniq 6 has a sporty rear. There is a spoiler at the base of the rear glass. Underneath, there is a subtle duck tail spoiler that blends into the sculpted tail. The full-width taillights have pixel-like square elements that give the design a vaguely retro-futuristic aesthetic. The lower fascia features a pair of vertical elements with red and white reflectors in small square elements, which match the rest of the taillights.
Hyundai also didn’t provide any technical details about the interior, but we can learn a lot just by looking at the pictures. The split screens for the digital instrument cluster and infotainment share a single bezel. On the outer edge, the dashboard curves upwards to create space for a display featuring a side camera video feed. The panel under the dashboard has a series of capacitive buttons for operating the HVAC system.
There is a two-spoke steering wheel with capacitive buttons on each side. Four, the square light is in the center of the wheel. It is not clear whether this is purely decorative or has a specific function.
These cabin photos show purple accent light strips on the dashboard and blue illumination emanating from the lower door panels. We don’t know if the owner can change this color as the bright shades may not be to everyone’s taste.
The Ioniq 6 uses the E-GMP platform which is also below the Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6. The sedan will reportedly come with a 77.4 kilowatt-hour battery. With two electric motors, an output of around 300 horsepower (224 kilowatts) is expected. Single motor and more performance-focused versions are also possible.
