Just like the rest of the world, electrification is in Lamborghini. The Italian automaker is expected to electrify its lineup sooner rather than later. Even so, Lamborghini design boss Mitja Borkert said that the design direction has not changed.
Talk to Autocar at the Milan Monza motor show, Borkert said that Lamborghini would continue to make cars with “emotional performance.”
“They will always look like spaceships, always inspiring, always cars that with whatever technology they have will have a voice and emotion to touch you,” Bonkers told the British publication.

That said, we can expect future electrified Lamborghini supercars to retain the incredible styling we saw with the Lamborghini Sian FKP 37. This limited-range supercar takes inspiration from the Lamborghini Terzo Millennio concept from 2017. It’s already electrified, using a low-capacity supercapacitor device, but the model future will use a more conventional hybrid setup under should another world design approach.
Lamborghini is set to launch pure gasoline powered vehicles this year, with complete hybridization of its lineup occurring in 2024. The first Lamborghini EV is slated for 2028, reportedly arriving as a high-riding 2+2 engine, followed by a second. management generation.
The switch to EVs also opens up several design opportunities for automakers, according to Borkert. Citing the lack of tailpipes for EVs, “with mufflers, we can use that area for aero … in a really cool way,” said Bonkert. Autocar.
“I’m sure we can introduce smart aero in the future,” he added.
While we wait for the upcoming electrified Lamborghinis to make their respective debuts, let’s not forget that the automaker has filed a trademark for the Revuelto name recently. This could be the name of the battery-operated Lambo, but that’s not confirmed at this point so let’s wait and see.
