The 2022 Cadillac CT5 is no longer offered in Garnet Metallic exterior color, The Cadillac Society has learned.
A deep red coloration has been made for the 2022 model year, which means it is no longer available on the new CT5 luxury sedan unit. At this time, it’s unclear how many individual CT5 units are built with Garnet Metallic, or whether the color will return for the 2023 model year.
Garnet Metallic is offered exclusively on the 2022 CT5 units in Luxury and Premium Luxury trims. In other words, it’s not available for the ultra-high-performance CT5 Sport 2022, CT5-V or CT5-V Blackwing. It is considered a premium color and costs an additional $625 to complete.
Additionally, we’ve learned that the 2022 Cadillac CT4 will also no longer be available with a Garnet Metallic exterior color.
The 2022 Cadillac CT5 features the 2.0L I4 (production code LSY), with 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, as standard on the Luxury and Premium Luxury trim levels. These models carry the 350T moniker on the decklid. Rear-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is optional.
Prices for the 2022 CT5 start at $38,440 for rear-wheel drive, and $41,015 for all-wheel drive. Production of the luxury sedan for the 2022 model year began in early October 2021 after a nearly five-month hiatus due to an ongoing global microchip shortage.
While production of the 2022 Cadillac CT5 is now in full swing at the Lansing Grand plant, the microchip shortage continues to have an impact on the vehicle, as it is not currently available to order with Super Cruise, Cadillac’s semi-autonomous driver assistance technology. In addition, the lack of microchips also limits the availability of certain garden assistance features.
