The new teaser video for the Hyundai Ioniq 6 doesn’t actually show the upcoming EV. Instead, the clip tries to give viewers a general vibe of the vehicle by showing an example of things being simplified. It ends with the car’s tagline: “Electrified Streamliner.”

The audio video is in Korean, but you don’t need to understand the language to get Hyundai’s message about the Ioniq 6. The clip begins with a little boy looking at a picture of an Art-Deco-style bicycle in a book with the message “The Bike of the Future.” Next, we see a man reclining on a lounge chair. Clouds flowed over the mountain and then around the black pebbles. The final view is a dome-shaped building, covered in windows with white slits inside.

Ioniq 6 takes style inspiration from subtle-bodied forecast concept (gallery above). Its flowing lines give the vehicle a sleek shape befitting of how Hyundai hypnotized the new EV.

Judging from the spy shots of the production version, the Ioniq 5 will probably look very similar to the concept. The camouflaged development vehicles have panels on their bodies to hide their shape. The front end bears a strong resemblance to a show car.

The Ioniq 6 uses the E-GMP platform which also supports the Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 GT. This sedan reportedly uses a 77.4 kilowatt-hour battery. A dual motor variant will reportedly have around 300 horsepower (224 kilowatts). There might also be a performance N version that might share the 576-hp (430-kW) output with the EV6 GT.

Rumors suggest the Ioniq 6 could debut in South Korea in June. This teaser release suggests an unveiling may be imminent. It should be sold in the US for the 2023 model year.

After the Ioniq 6, the Ioniq 7 will be the next offering in Hyundai’s EV sub-brand. Judging from the concept, it will be a large SUV with wide windows. Like the other models, it will use the E-GMP platform.
