Refreshed Porsche 911 Spyed In Coupe And Convertible Form

This large gallery of images offers an expansive look at the updated Porsche 911 in convertible and coupe configurations. There’s even an updated look to the interior of the model.

Up front, the refreshed 911 boasts a row of vertical slats in the lower inlet. The car can actively control these elements and close them depending on the cooling needs of the vehicle.

The lights in the outer corners are for this development model only and not for the production version. According to our spies, the daytime running lights and turn signal lights are underneath.

Along the sides, the convertible has sensors above the passenger-side A-pillar, and cables run to the front storage area. Examples of coupes and droptops on the road use mismatched wheels with a design featuring a Y-shaped spoke in front and a 10-spoke design at the rear.

The 911 on the track in these photos has sensors on the wheels. In particular, Kistler RoaDyn measure the forces that affect every angle for vehicle dynamics research and road load data collection.

The rear bumper has a cover on it, so we can’t draw any conclusions about its design. One of the changes is relocating the dual exhaust outlets more towards the center of the tail.

Inside, the updated 911 adopts a fully digital instrument cluster, replacing the analog tachometer of the current model. The center console layout doesn’t look any different. The infotainment screens appear to be the same size.

The powertrain changes for the updated 911 range are still a mystery. However, we know hybrids are joining the lineup. Porsche says that this electrically assisted model emphasizes power over economy. Small battery to keep this variant from gaining weight.

We expect the first of the updated 911s to debut in the second half of 2022. At the moment, it’s unclear whether the company will unveil all of the updated models at once or launch them individually.
