Cadillac Celestiq Teaser Image Preview Headlights, EV Sedan Wheel

[ad_1]

The world is patiently waiting for the Cadillac Celestiq. It was first announced in 2020; We’re now halfway through 2022 and the electric sedan still hasn’t made its debut. But a new teaser image from Cadillac reminds us that it’s coming, maybe sooner rather than later.

For this teaser round, Cadillac focused primarily on the Celestiq’s lighting elements. That might seem a bit exaggerated considering the previous teaser from January 2021 also emphasized light. It’s more of a black-and-white thing, whereas this time we’re treated to a few colors. Additionally, the lighting feature will not be relegated to the headlights and taillights, as seen in the image at the top of this article. It depicts a long fender with the front wheel pushed as far as you can go, with a flared badge behind it.

Another teaser image zooms in on the taillights, continuing Cadillac’s long tradition of vertically oriented thin red lenses. The design and build is very similar to the Lyriq crossover, something we’ve also seen in previous teasers.

The silver teaser image is something of a mystery; appears to be part of the exterior trim, perhaps something along the rear quarter panels. The last picture is complete a mystery, though impossible to miss world standard stamped into whatever it is. If you have any thoughts on these two images, leave a comment and let us know.

It’s worth noting that we don’t need to see the production version of the Celestiq in this teaser image. It will first debut as a concept (show car, as Cadillac calls it) but could also be a near production offering like the Lyriq.

“From its unique proportions and easy and sophisticated new form language, to its precision and attention to detail, the Celestiq is like nothing on the road today,” said Magalie Debellis, Cadillac Branded Advanced Design manager. “From the very beginning, the Celestiq show car was built to be a ‘World Standard’.”

It’s been two years since we first got to know the Celestiq, and over a year since the last teaser surfaced. We thought the big EV sedan would debut last year, although lingering supply chain issues and chip shortages are bound to cause delays with nearly every automaker on the planet. With Cadillac hopping back into the teaser train, could we finally see the Celestiq revealed later this year? Cadillac didn’t speak, but we’re betting heavily on yes.
