Last week, versatile tire buster and rally racer Ken Block celebrated National Donut Day with… you guessed it… donuts. Of course we’re not talking about the kind you eat, but his donut adventures don’t involve Ford, Subaru, Hyundai, or Audi – brands that have recently been in its wheelhouse in some form or another. It looks like the garage is expanding to include a new truck that packs a serious punch.
We already know the Gymkhana star is up to something with Ram, as revealed last week with a social post from Block and Ram. We’re left to speculate that it’s a Hellcat-powered TRX, and that’s now confirmed in a new teaser. This time, the teaser only comes from Block’s social media accounts, offering a first-hand view of the muscle truck while promising a “new and unreleased edition” coming on June 7.
After taking a closer look at the black-and-white photos, we couldn’t find anything out of the ordinary for hints about this particular TRX. Of course, the truck was almost completely covered in dust so there wasn’t much to see. The previous teaser was a video shot high above from a drone, so there’s nothing to gain either. Given how much Ram loves the special edition pickup truck, we’re most likely looking at some kind of appearance package for the TRX.
It’s unlikely that there will be some kind of power increase, but it’s unlikely. The Ram TRX was already the most powerful factory pickup truck in the world with 702 horsepower (523 kilowatts), but it almost lost that title. The Ford F-150 Raptor R will debut sometime this year, and is expected to have at least 725 hp (541 kW) thanks to the same supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine used in the Mustang Shelby GT500. With the recent appearance of the Raptor R prototype completely revealed, the debut could be a few weeks away.

It’s hard to ignore the timing of this new TRX edition with the Raptor R so close to production. And we know the Hellcat’s 6.2-liter Ram V8 is capable of more power; produces 797 hp (594 kW) in the Challenger Hellcat Redeye. Could there be one last internal combustion horsepower war in the trucking world before electric power takes over?
We’ll find out at 12:00 PM on June 7, when this new edition of the Ram TRX is revealed.
