Mercedes-AMG E63 Final Edition Signals The Beginning Of The End

[ad_1]

Mercedes-Benz will reveal a new generation version of the GLC Class, which will come with a mild hybrid and PHEV – an unavoidable direction in this era of electrification. But this isn’t the only new model that Mercedes fans should be on the lookout for.

News of the new Mercedes-AMG E63 S Final Edition is on the horizon as the launch date of the GLC draws near, courtesy of Germany Mercedes fans. And more importantly, the upcoming Final Edition will be the last of its kind – the last AMG E-Class sedan to be powered by a V8.

The rumor mill tells us that the next Mercedes E-Class W214 won’t have a V8 powertrain in the lineup, even with the top-spec AMG model. This is not confirmed at this point, though. However, internal discussions allegedly pulled the trigger on the eight-cylinder mill. If you’re in the market for a V8-powered AMG E63 S, then the Final Edition will be your last chance to buy a brand new one.

Mercedes-Benz hasn’t officially announced the AMG E63 S Final Edition yet, but we have preliminary details from those privy to the matter.

On the outside, the AMG E63 S Final Edition will have a matte finish, carbon fiber parts, gray AMG foil, and a set of 20-inch alloy wheels. The cabin will also get a carbon fiber finish, as well as a steering wheel and seats with yellow contrast stitching. More details will be revealed in the official announcement, especially the price which will definitely be higher than the current top-spec E63 S model.

Last year, we discovered that the V8 had been pulled from the Mercedes lineup due to quality issues. AMG boss Philipp Scheimers says otherwise, saying that the V8 will last for another 10 years – in various forms.
