Pagani C10 Next-Gen Hypercar Makes Spy Photo Debut

It’s not every day that we get spy shots of the all-new Pagani hypercar. The Italian niche brand has teased its next offering, but only in the thinnest of sketches. These images represent our first look at an early prototype of what is currently called the C10.

Our first impression was that it looked very conservative on the outside, although admittedly we are used to seeing wild Zondas and winged Huayras. There’s absolutely no doubt we’re dealing with a Pagani here – if the side mirrors mounted on the slim slats weren’t enough, the glimpse we get from the circular dial on the carbon fiber dashboard should be proof enough. If you’re still unsure, the quad-exit center exhaust at the rear makes it an open and closed case.

Of course, conservative is a relative description in this context. Looking closely at the front we see a large angular vent with some sort of spoon incorporated next to it. It has the familiar Pagani short nose with a sharp windshield dipping into it. It’s likely that there are multiple vents on the hood, just as there are vents or sculptural features on the doors, hidden with a camo behind the front wheels. There appears to be a scoop behind the roof, supplying air to the engine even though it could be a faux panel. The flat, wide rear includes taillights that don’t look production-ready, mounted above a rugged-looking diffuser.

If you’re worried that Pagani will let go of the AMG-sourced V12 engine, fear not. The return of the 6.0 liter is confirmed, although the power output is unknown. Last year, Horatio Pagani said the emphasis on the C10 would be track performance as opposed to something with insane power levels. However, a 30 to 40 hp spike from the Huayra will give the C10 around 800 hp. If it goes in as featherweight with track-focused aero, it should be quite an engine.

We’ll find out on September 12th. Pagani has confirmed the date, marking the arrival of the C10 with a celebration of art, music and technology in Milan, Italy.
