Lexus LFA And Lamborghini Huracan STO Drag Race In V10 Engine Battle

Comparing modern supercars with top models from a few years ago allows us to see the technical progress of these machines. The comparisons in this video are entertaining as both models have a naturally aspirated V10 engine which sounds amazing. This is a Lexus LFA versus a Lamborghini Huracan STO.

Currently, the Lexus LFA can easily order more than $ 1 million. Given its value, it seems drag racing is a rarity, which is another factor that makes this video so interesting. Plus, the naturally aspirated 4.8 liter V10 engine is one of the best-sounding engines ever in a road vehicle. The mill has a 9,000-rpm redline and roars like a banshee when it spins that fast.

The powerplant produces 552 horsepower (412 kilowatts) and 354 pound-feet (480 Newton-meters) of torque. The gearbox is a six-speed automatic manual.

The Huracan STO (Super Trofeo Omologata) is a track-focused supercar that you can also drive on the road. It has a dry weight of just 2,951 pounds (1,339 kilograms) thanks to various tweaks, including more than 75 percent of the bodywork being carbon fiber.

The naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 produces 630 hp (470 kW) and 417 lb-ft (565 Nm). A seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox sends power to the rear wheels.

The Lexus LFA clutch is a bit flimsy and very expensive to replace, so the driver didn’t use launch control for this race.

First, there was a drag race with an odd result because the LFA took the lead from the start and managed to cross the line first. The Lamborghini driver thought that everything was in proper mode, but for some reason, the gearbox shifted long before the red line.

They then resumed racing, but this time the Huracan STO was in manual shifting mode. There was a big difference, and Lamborghini raced for an easy win.

Finally, they race off the reels. The video doesn’t specify the speed at the start, but that’s fine. Huracan took another easy win. It’s the best-sounding race as the two V10s scream together.
