Chevrolet shocked the world in January by revealing partially electric versions of the Equinox and Blazer. Renders of the new Equinox EV were shared, including a depiction of its digital interior. Now, Chevrolet is offering a short teaser video showing the dashboard up close.
The video begins with a zoomed in view of one of the turbine-style climate control vents in the corner of the dashboard. The footage shifts to the center console, catching a glimpse of the large cup holder with the cluster of controls at the base of the dashboard barely visible. We see a round dial with buttons in the middle; The layout is common with Chevrolet vehicles and which should be familiar to buyers.

The video then moves up, offering a very close look at what appears to be the passenger side of the dashboard. Apparently, there will be some form of ambient lighting front and center on the dashboard, although this was probably done just for show in the teaser. The video is then zoomed in to offer a wide view of the dashboard, showing a large center touchscreen with narrow climate vents underneath. We took a partial look at the digital cluster for the driver, which shows 48,211 miles on the odometer. Could this be some kind of secret message or just a random number?
We know the Equinox EV featured in this video hasn’t covered 48,000 miles. That’s because it’s not a real vehicle – the fine print earlier in the clip states this is all a simulation. The fine print also reaffirms the estimated fall 2023 Equinox EV launch date for the RS model, meaning we still have more than a year before the production model reaches dealers. The LT model won’t arrive until 2024.
When that arrives, Chevrolet promises the electric Equinox will have a starting price of under $30,000. It’s unclear if that price point will be met with the RS model that came first, but we do know it will use GM’s Ultium platform. The upcoming Blazer EV will also use the platform, but so far, Chevrolet is much more interested in getting people excited for the Equinox.
