Cadillac Society exclusively reported on the upcoming Cadillac Escalade-V in 2019, and since then, we’ve been keeping an eye on various prototypes undergoing testing, and were even lucky enough to hear one roar a few months ago. Cadillac confirmed our report by revealing the Escalade-V earlier this year, with a promise to unveil its full specs in May. May is upon us, and today, the luxury brand unmasked the Escalade-V and revealed its full specs.
We already know that the Cadillac Escalade-V will draw motivation from the same engine that’s under the hood of the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing: a supercharged 6.2L V8 engine (production code LT4). Under the hood of a performance-oriented luxury SUV, the eight cylinders are capable of producing 682 horsepower and 653 pound-feet of torque. The supercharged engine bolts to a Cadillac 10-speed automatic transmission, throwing power to all four wheels. Luxury marque estimates that the Escalade-V can sprint from zero to 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds.
The V-Series badge “racing Mondrian” is exclusive to Cadillac V-Series vehicles, named after Piet Mondrian, whose art inspired the emblem. In fact, the Escalade-V is the first SUV to wear the V-Series badge, joining the high-performance Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing sedan and CT5-V Blackwing in the luxury marque’s lineup. The V-Series badge can be found throughout the interior of the Escalade-V, including on the driver and front passenger doors, lift doors and steering wheel.
There are plenty of features to further differentiate the Cadillac Escalade-V from its competitors. The car features a unique front and rear fascia designed to represent the aggressive V-Series designation, along with sporty quad exhaust outlets. The six-piston Brembo brake calipers are painted bright red, visible behind the exclusive 22-inch aluminum alloy wheels. V-Mode is available with adjustable driving performance settings, such as Cadillac’s Super Cruise semi-autonomous driver assistance technology. The suspension is slightly lower than the regular Escalade, and features an active exhaust valve that controls the roar of the V8.
“Customers and fans have been asking for the Escalade-V, and we’re excited to bring this high-performance SUV to the market at 120 Cadillac.th birthdays,” said Rory Harvey, Global Vice President of Cadillac.
The Cadillac Escalade-V 2023 will go on sale later this summer, and will carry an MSRP of $149,990 for the regular variant. An extended ESV model will also be available.
