A new prototype has been spotted being tested at Maranello for the first time, courtesy of Varryx YouTube. And yes, we’re not talking about another Purosangue test vehicle, but rather an SF90 Stradale that’s oddly hidden in certain areas and some modifications are visible.
What exactly is this Ferrari SF90 Stradale prototype? Information is scarce at this point but according to people who saw the vehicle, it will be a hardcore version of the SF90 that will bear the name VS, which stands for Versione Stradale. It will allegedly be codenamed F173 VS.

The previous Prancing Horse that used the VS name was the Ferrar 812 VS, which later officially bore the 812 Competizione moniker. It came with an uptuned V12 producing 830 horsepower, which makes it Ferrari’s most powerful pure combustion engine to date.
This begs the question – what can we expect from the F173 VS or SF90 Stradale VS? It will remain a mystery for now, although we can predict its arrival in 2023 or later if we trust the information gathered by the video uploader.
On that note, the prototype seen here is seen with exterior modifications, such as a hole in the hood (a la Ferrari 488 Pista) covered in metal panels. The yellow sticker confirms the hybrid power unit in the vehicle. There will also be wings (not seen on the prototype) plus dual mic-mounted exhaust tips on the red test unit.
And yes, there do appear to be four SF90 mules spotted roaming around Maranello, with black, silver, and yellow joined by the red example. Interestingly, the black prototype comes with a sticker on the back that says “No Mulo,” which roughly translates to “No Mule.”
