Maserati Grecale Interior All But Revealed In New Spy Photos

[ad_1]

For the record, we wouldn’t blame you one bit if you thought this spy photo of the Maserati Grecale interior was made on purpose. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the compact SUV from the inside – in fact we recently caught a test vehicle with red seats and door panels, but here’s where it gets interesting.

The dash was hidden in the previous image (bottom left) but this time, the reverse is true and we mean accurate in front of. The seats and doors are covered in the new photo (bottom right) but the dashboard and center console are fully displayed, without any obstructions. Between these old photos and the new set, we’ve pretty much seen the full Grecale greenhouse.

There’s nothing missing from the center touchscreen, which isn’t quite as simple as we thought last year when we caught a glimpse of the partially-enclosed prototype. A piece of glass covers two separate areas for touchscreen functionality, with a control strip in the middle. Dirty fingerprints suggest they both have multiple functions, though it’s likely the lower half of the screen mainly handles the climate control system with the upper part reserved for communication and navigation.

The second screen faces the driver behind the wheel, but that’s just a digital interface. The steering wheel with prominent paddle shifters and reinforced seats reinforce the sporty feel that Maserati will bring to the Grecale. Aimed at compact crossover competitors such as the BMW X3 and Porsche Macan, the Grecale should start with an entry-level model that has four-cylinder power. The formula goes wild, however, with the Grecale Trofeo. Maserati has confirmed an upcoming performance model, and it could borrow a 621-horsepower (463-kilowatt) twin-turbocharged V6 from the MC20.

Unfortunately, we still have a few months to wait, as a global semiconductor shortage forced the Italian brand to postpone Grecale’s debut until the spring of 2022.
