It’s been a long time coming, but Audi fans in the United States will soon have a new sports sedan to enjoy. The RS 3 is slated to hit dealers in the summer, and its MSRP will start at just under $60,000.
And we mean only. Audi lists the RS 3 for $58,900, with a mandatory destination fee of $1,095 in addition. Added up, the total is $59.995 and for that, you really earn quite a bit. All RS 3 models have the same 2.5-liter inline-five turbocharged engine, producing 401 horsepower (299 kilowatts). For the record, that’s a few more horses than you’ll find in the RS 3 across the pond, and power still flows to all four wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. That’s enough to send the sedan to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds, and if you really like the bright green exterior, it’s a no-cost color.
However, it is only no-cost colors that Audi offers, so not flashy will cost you. You’ll either pay $595 for the other colors in the palette, or if none of these meet your needs, you can opt for something customized via the $3,900 Audi-exclusive custom paint color option. To find the most expensive RS 3 you can get, we naturally opted for that option in our fictional build.

Other options include the $2,750 RS Technology plan. That gets you a few essential items including a preview display, navigation, an upgraded Bang & Olufsen stereo, and a six-month subscription to Audi Connect, among others. The $5,500 Dynamic Plus package adds ceramic front brakes, a carbon engine cover, and a bump in the speed limiter to 180 mph. More carbon fiber is available in the Carbon package, adding material to the mirrors, side sill inlays and spoiler. Miscellaneous items such as the Audi Side Assist with cross-traffic warning and a sports exhaust system bring us to the grand total: $76,245.
Audi also offers several packages that are only available with a green exterior. That includes the Black Optic Plus package and the RS Design green package, but the Kyalami Green RS 3 with every option selected is still not as much going for something with a custom paint job. The total with this item selected is $74,595.
Those who don’t opt for the option still get a very fast sports sedan that is well equipped. 19-inch wheels are standard, as is the sport-tuned suspension. Inside you’ll find a fully digital cockpit with a 12.3-inch driver display, a 10.1-inch center screen, and various driving modes to maximize power. And while 180 mph is a neat point of bragging with friends in the pub, the RS 3 zero option still accelerates to 155 mph as fast as the fully loaded model.
