2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing 120 Anniversary Edition Auctioned: Video

Recently, 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing 120^th The Anniversary Edition was revealed in celebration of the luxury brand’s milestone anniversary. Only 120 special edition ultra-high-performance sedans will be produced, and the first unit assembled already has a new owner, selling at auction for $250,000.

The vehicle crossed the auction block at Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach in Florida, and the presentation was attended by Brandon Vivian, chief engineer at Cadillac.

“What we have to auction here is a very, very special special edition CT5 V-Series Blackwing. This special edition celebrates 120^th Cadillac’s birthday, so we’re going to auction here the most powerful Cadillac ever produced,” said Vivian.

The full $250,000 hammer price for the 2023 special edition Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing goes to the SAE Foundation, a nonprofit that helps increase the accessibility of STEM programs to students around the world. “We are proud to support the SAE Foundation and thank Barrett-Jackson for providing this opportunity,” Rory Harvey, vice president of Global Cadillac, said after the sale. “We will help create new challenges focused on sustainability for high school students across the country, as well as provide hands-on immersive STEM learning for students in under-resourced communities.”

2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing 120^th The Anniversary Edition draws power from the marque’s luxury supercharged V8 engine (production code LT4), which makes 669 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque. As previously mentioned, this special edition super sedan is limited to just 120 units, and each carries unique details to set it apart, such as an embossed sill plate bearing the Cadillac logo, special shifter medallions, and special plaques on the steering wheel and B-pillars, along with certificate of authenticity. Each unit carries a serial VIN containing a key year in Cadillac’s history from 1902 to 2022.

Price for CT5-V Blackwing 120^th The Anniversary Edition hasn’t been announced yet, but the regular production version starts at $84,940 including destination and shipping costs.
