Brabus is back with another creation, this time tuning a Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600. There have been a number of visual improvements inside and out, though the most significant news is under the hood. The Brabus 900 gets its name from its engine output, and Brabus achieves this with a variety of aftermarket upgrades that go beyond the increased performance figures of the SUV.
Brabus increased engine output by increasing the displacement from 4.0 to 4.5 liters and called it the Brabus Rocket 900 V8. A pair of larger custom-made turbochargers increased boost pressure, allowing the modified factory to produce 900 horsepower (662 kilowatts) and up to 922 pound-feet (1,250 Newton-meters) of torque.
However, Brabus limits the number of revolutions to 775 lb-ft (1,050 Nm) to protect the powertrain, which the tuner is backed by with a three-year or 62,000-mile (100,000 kilometers) warranty.

Brabus also modified the engine intake and fuel system while adding a high-performance stainless steel exhaust to help increase output. The exhaust, which can be actively controlled by the driver, comes through a new rear diffuser with a large rectangular exhaust pipe. The new exhaust and bumper are just some of the new exterior parts that Brabus has added, which enhances the SUV’s appearance and plays an important role in its aerodynamics. The new carbon bit helps reduce lift at high speeds.
Visually, the tuner changes the styling front and rear thanks to the new carbon bits. Brabus finished off the radiator grille and exterior trim in Shadow Grey, as did the 24-inch Monoblock M alloy wheels. Inside, Brabus completes the GLS in a two-tone black and beige leather. However, Brabus makes each car to order, and the tuner offers a wide variety of interior finishes.
Brabus says the large luxury SUV will hit 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers) while en route to a top speed of 200-mph (320-kph). The GLS also received modifications to the air suspension, which lowered the GLS by about 1 inch (25 millimeters).
The Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 is by no means short on power or luxury, but Brabus always finds ways to add more. The Brabus 900 is much more powerful than the standard Maybach GLS while looking different thanks to the improved visual tuner.
