The Lexus LC was supposed to get a high-performance F variant, but Lexus allegedly pulled the project back in 2020. Nearly two years later, however, the automaker posted a teaser image on Instagram suggesting the LC F might be on its way. path to production. Maybe. The dark teaser hides most of the car, but Lexus’ bold F badge is clearly visible in the background, illuminating the car enough to reveal the wide rear fender and prominent hood. However, every distinct style feature is hidden in the shadows.
A report from last year alleged that the LC F was a possibility, as there was always speculation about the automaker expanding its F performance brand. The report suggests that the powerful LC will arrive with a newly developed 4.0-liter V8 that will be capable of as much as 660 horsepower (485 kilowatts) and 479 pound-feet (650 newton-meters) of torque.
Details about the potential LC F are slim. However, it looks like Lexus could be getting the new coupe ready to debut in 2023. That’s when the LC should have received its mid-cycle update. However, we haven’t seen a Lexus LC test vehicle for a while.
Interestingly, a teaser has been posted to Lexus Racing, hinting at the possibility that the automaker will bring the tuned coupe to the track. The company captioned the post with, “Highest performance expression.” Lexus has teased LC race cars in the past, so a new one with an upgraded powertrain shouldn’t be too much of a surprise.
Lexus didn’t provide any information about when we might see more information or other teasers about the model. Either way, it’s from Lexus’ F Division, which means it’ll place a huge emphasis on power and performance. While the LC is a stunning coupe with plenty of power, it’s still a luxury car despite its sleek looks.
